Favorite Out of Area Restaurants
Maui has so many fabulous restaurants that we can’t possibly list them all here. These are just a few local favorites that we feel are worth mentioning. Click the links for more information.
NORTH SHORE: Mama’s Fish House: The most popular and well-known restaurant in Maui. A “must-do,” but reservations must be made months in advance. You will have better luck getting in if you call rather than trying to make reservations online. It’s on the North Shore, just past Paia. Upscale and very pricey. CENTRAL MAUI: Cafe O’Lei At The Mill House: Located at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu. Fresh farm-to-table food in a beautiful and relaxed setting that looks straight out of Jurassic Park. UPCOUNTRY: Grandma’s Coffee House: Upcountry in Kula. A four-generation owned local favorite coffee house. They serve sandwiches and baked goods and pies from grandma’s original homemade recipes. Hali’imaile General Store: Maui’s original farm-to-table restaurant founded by Renowned Chef Bev Gannon. They feature regional Hawaiian cuisine using local ingredients, sourcing many of them from Hawaiian farmers, fishermen, and ranchers. Pricey. Kula Lodge Garden Terrace Restaurant: An amazing location with awesome views. This is a great place for brunch. Under new ownership, so check the website for hours. WEST MAUI The Gazebo: In Napili. A hidden casual breakfast spot with amazing views right on the water by Napili Bay. Closes at 2 p.m. Merriman’s Kapalua: Famous oceanfront dining on Maui’s West Side in an incredible setting. It’s fabulous for a sunset dinner. Upscale and very pricey. Reservations are required. Burger Shack Kapalua: Burgers and more in a fantastic location right on the beach. Try to get there before noon before the winds pick up. Plantation House: In Kapalua. Amazing views of the ocean and the golf course. Upscale and very pricey. |
