INSIDERS GUIDE

The Ultimate Way to See Maui: Helicopter Tours

Click the underlined links for more information or to book an activity or tour.

For first-time visitors to Maui, a helicopter tour should be at the top of your must-do list. It’s the ultimate way to take in the island’s beauty. Fly over hidden cascading waterfalls, lush tropical canyons, and over 3,000-foot sea cliffs that can only be seen by air.

The Best Helicopter Tour in Maui for Families

We recommend the top-rated West Maui and Molokai Special Helicopter Tour for families with children or if this is your first helicopter experience.

At 45 minutes, it’s one of the shorter helicopter tours, but you’ll still be able to view plenty of incredible scenery.

Make reservations for the helicopter tour here.

Best Helicopter Tour with Doors Off to see West Maui & Molokai

Soar above scenic Maui and Molokai on this scenic and exciting helicopter flight - it's ideal for thrill seekers in Hawaii. Make reservations here.

Experience breathtaking views during your flight as you soar above beaches, jungle terrain, waterfalls, rainforests, and more.

Lush Views of the Hana Rainforest and Maui’s Northern Shore

Another great helicopter tour option is the Hana Rainforest Tour, which flies you over Maui’s rugged north coast and lands in the Wailua Valley.

You’ll see iconic spots such as the ‘Jaws’ surf break, which has massive waves for surfing. In addition, you’ll fly over Keopuka rock—also known as Jurassic Rock from the Jurassic Park movies.

Make reservations here.

Helpful Tips for the Best Helicopter Experience:

  • Helicopter tours require good weather. Try to schedule the tour earlier in your vacation just in case you need to reschedule. If your helicopter tour is canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • Try to book the tour for as early in the day as possible before the wind and clouds come in.
  • If you need to cancel, be sure you know the tour’s cancellation policy. Most require you to cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Check for weight restrictions. Many tours will charge for an additional seat if you are over a certain weight.
  • Get there on time (or even a little early)! Make sure to confirm check-in times, or you may miss the tour.
